Thailand’s top hospital – Bumrungrad International Hospital (BIH) is investing B4.3 billion in a new boutique hospital with 150 beds in Phuket’s Mai Khao.
This investment is driven by the hospitals assessment of Phuket’s ongoing development as a a growing medical tourism destination.
The acquisition of 16.3-rai site has already been finalized and announced last July by David Boucher, BIH’s Chief Partnerships Officer, at the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) Multi-Chamber Phuket Evening on Medical Tourism.
It will be located opposite Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket, just 3 kilometers from the Phuket International Airport.
Bumrungrad International Hospital Phuket is only a part of a bigger effort by Thai government and Phuket private sector to transform the island into a world-class wellness destination. It will join the government’s 5 billion THB international medical hub investment initiative (also located in Mai Khao).
