The more than 25,000-square-foot residence is located along Millionaire’s Mile in Kamala, a village in Phuket, Thailand
Located along the exclusive Millionaire’s Mile along the western coastline of Kamala, a village on the island, the more than 25,000-square-foot home overlooks the Andaman Sea.
Known as Villa Mayavee, the residence is part of a community with just eight other villas—and it is now part of the Mandarin Oriental’s Luxury Homes rental program, “further enhancing the exceptional offerings of this remarkable residence,” said Desjardins, who listed the villa late last month. The new owners could choose to list the home as vacation rental through the Mandarin Oriental management program for between US$2,150 and US$4,950 per night, according to the company’s website.
Phuket, a magnet for second-home buyers, is at the center of the boom in branded residences across the Asia-Pacific and lays claim to the most developments attached to a hotel or lifestyle brand of any city in the region.
Materials were chosen to add texture to the villa, designed by Martin Palleros of Terra Designs, the listing said. That includes a stone facade, Japanese pool tiles and floors made from solid wood, French limestone and sandstone. The home, sold furnished, has pieces by Poliform, Gandia Blasco, Paola Lenti and Minotti.
The oceanfront home is “one of the rare standalone villas in this prestigious locale,” Desjardins said in an email. “Its bold and contemporary architecture captivates at every turn.”
The villa’s main living space is described as a “floating,” open area with walls of windows, a bespoke glass-enclosed spiral staircase and a show kitchen overlooking the main pool area, which has several spots for sunbathing. There’s also a complete commercial-grade kitchen for large or catered events.
There are four bedrooms, including a main bedroom suite with a nearly 40-foot private lap pool, a dressing room and an office suite, according to the listing.
Other amenities include a gym with a sauna, numerous covered and uncovered terraces—including a roof deck for sunrise and sunset viewing—staff areas and an internal garage area.
